The tech company rolled out the first major update to Windows 11 (22H2) in late September, which introduces new features that improve security, accessibility, and productivity.
Microsoft has found that some computers that have updated to this version experience performance issues with games and applications, as they “inadvertently enable non-consumer GPU performance debugging features,” as detailed on the Microsoft Learn More page.
To prevent the issue from impacting more users, the company has decided to discontinue the update for affected computers, which will not be offered the update until the issue is resolved.
While the fix arrives, which Microsoft says it’s already working on, the company advises users who already have version 22H2 installed to update their games and applications to the latest version available. It also urges them to avoid manually installing the Windows 11 update.
