The English star denies his presence at the opening ceremony of the 2022 World Cup
Six days before the opening ceremony of the 2022 World Cup, the English singer Dua Lipa has revealed that she will not attend the ceremony, which will be attended by the Colombian singer Shakira.
The 27-year-old singer, born in London to Kosovar parents, said she will not attend the World Cup opening ceremony, after reports linked her to the event.
Lipa shared a statement on her Instagram account, in which she wrote, “There is currently a lot of speculation that I will perform at the opening ceremony of the World Cup in Qatar. I will not perform and have not participated in any negotiations to make the ceremony.”
“I will support England from afar and look forward to visiting Qatar,” he added.
Interestingly, the World Cup will be held starting with the opening ceremony on November 20, while the closing ceremony will be held on December 18.
