Why, a month after buying a PC, I sold PS5 on Avito – Iron on DTF

When I was assembling a PC, I subconsciously realized that I would hardly need a curling iron anymore. But I decided to give myself a month to make a final decision and not rush to sell. After all, from 1999 to 2004 and from 2007 to 2022 I sat exclusively on curling irons, and I only had experience with a PC in 2004-2007.

I’ll give a spoiler – now I don’t see the point in consoles at all. And so, let’s begin.

  1. It turned out that there are no dances with a tambourine on the PC.

All flat bloggers assured that PCs have problems with drivers, compatibility, lags, statters and other trifles. I myself thought it was. And it was really scary. Now I have a feeling these bloggers are sitting on a percentage of Sonya and Mikes. Because I have not encountered any serious problems. All problems can arise only if you try to IMPROVE the performance of the stock when overclocking. Yes, I had problems trying to overclock the video card. But I decided to do something that is not available on consoles a priori. Then he spat and everything works as it should out of the box. Oh and here’s another problem (the only real problem) is the lack of enough power on the front USB. But then again, I have a total of about 8 USB inputs on my PC and there are 2 on the curling iron)) so this isn’t a problem at all. The rest – for a month of games (played Witcher, eldak, cyberpunk, spider, gov, fifa, DS3 and some other games on the little things). I didn’t take a single flight which was so scary. Soooo rarely a stutter can escape, with which they were so scared, they say there is very good optimization on the curling iron, and lags and stuttering on the PC. But I will only say that it is better to have a rare stutter every 2 hours in some Elden Ring or The Witcher, with a stable 60 fps with excellent graphics, than 30-50 fps (Eldak) or even 30 (The Witcher) with average graphics. These statters are only visible when tracking and are not felt at all in-game. So now I do not exclude that there are stutters on the curling iron too, it’s just that we are not provided with frametime tracking. Again, it turns out that on a PC these “problems” stupidly arise due to the ability to detect them. The rest of the experience is completely console. Yes, I play on TV in a good chair, I can’t sit at the monitor. I turn on the PC, start the big picture and fly into the game. I play on Dualsense and it syncs perfectly with Steam. There are no problems. Well yes, I won’t hide, on the curling iron a little faster. Probably 5 seconds total. But it doesn’t affect absolutely anything.

2. Ability to choose graphics settings and FPS.

All the flatbed bloggers suggest that PCs are playing at graphics settings, not a game. This is a blatant lie. Yes, on the first run, I spend an average of about 10-15 minutes so that I DON’T get what console gamers love so much – 30fps, blurs, aberrations and soaps. If you take the experience of the console, you can set everything to medium by default and run it, there will be no problems.

And yes, here I will stop in more detail.

I don’t want to convey that a PC for 100k is better than a console for 50. The comforters next argument is “Well, GET A PC FOR 50k and then we’ll talk.” I want to convey that a PC even for 40k will be better than a console. A simple example is Elden Ring. In addition to the desktop, I have a working laptop – there is a Ryzen 5 4800h, 16GB of RAM and a 1650ti laptop video card. It’s not difficult is it? But I’m running Elden Ring on it at 900r at an average stable as a rock 60fps. What’s on plate 5? 30-50 and almost never a stable 60. It’s the same on Xbox Series X. And for me it’s much more important to play with a stable framerate than with attractive graphics. Although, of course, both are better.

And yes, now I have the opportunity (which I use) to play at home, then in case of a trip somewhere I play on a laptop and my cloud saves are always in sync. Yesterday I also tried lying on the sofa with a laptop under my stomach and with a gamepad, well, it looks like a Nintendo Switch, kaef.

Already written a lot. I have not touched on the topic here that a PC can still be used for other purposes, that a PC can be assembled to your taste and color, that ALL gamepads and ALL input devices are available on a PC, that you cannot immediately cut off all access to purchases on a PC, in the most extreme case it’s a torrent. I don’t want to upload too much information. Let me just summarize: consoles really are a hamster divorce for dallars, and I’m just offended that I’ve been milked like a bitch for the last 15 years, and squealed and asked for more. They sell you a weak box and sell games for 5k, internet subscriptions and other strays for it. And they assure that this is a real cool game. Kapets is simple, there are no words. But as Pushkin wrote, “heavy chains will fall, the dungeons will collapse, and freedom will gladly welcome you at the entrance …”. So I wish all comforters to be released from the shackles
