Broadcasting boss Jan Slagter is urgently looking for a place to live. He and his wife recently sold their house in Zoetermeer and plan to move into an apartment in Voorburg, which can only be reached by lift. But it turns out that Slagter’s dog is afraid of elevators.
“We have two dogs and the older greyhound appears to be traumatized,” Slagter says on this weekend’s podcast The commandments of Slagter and Dresselhuys. “She refuses to enter the elevator. Of course we can force her. But to do it three times a day now… Then she stands there shivering. We don’t feel like it.”
Slagter now has double trouble. Omroep director MAX and his wife have already rented the apartment in Voorburg for twelve months and are therefore looking for a new tenant. They also have to find new accommodation within a month, because the couple has to hand over the house in Zoetermeer in mid-December.
“My wife isn’t that worried. But I downloaded all the funda apps this weekend to see where there are still houses for rent in the area,” the NGO celebrity sighs.
