Lots to do – Advent in Ober-Grafendorf: from music to crafts

Only a little more than two weeks until the first Advent weekend. The pre-Christmas period offers some highlights in the community.

Already Monday 14. november, The Ober-Grafendorf craft group’s Christmas sale opens in the former Müller pastry shop on Hauptstraße.

BIS 19. november Handicrafts and handicrafts are presented. Homemade biscuits, pastries and products are also available. It is open on weekdays from From 8:00 to 17:00 Saturday from From 8:00 to 12:00 The proceeds are donated to social causes.

It will be musical and culinary with the “Enjoyment of Advent” in the café-restaurant “Berdas” in December. Start December 3rd with “Hilarious and Heartwarming Christmas” with singer Hannah Baumgartner and Martin Wöber on piano.

Brunch for all the senses

With voice, cello, harp and piano, the Herzogenburg “Garden of Generations” will play on December 10 under the motto “Together into the light”. The end of the series of events is the Pielachtaler Wind Advent with the Ober-Grafendorfer wind players under the direction of Anna Thallauer on December 17th. The Advent series starts at 11:00

Christmas and humorous stories by Aloisia Secnicka on December 8 from 16:00 in “Berdas”. There are also sonorous tones on Dagmar Riebl’s zither.

From this year on, the community Christmas tree will be set up in the churchyard 25. november a 4 pm including the previously lit Christmas lights. At the same time, it is the prelude to the Advent market in Ober-Grafendorf.

“Despite the energy crisis, there will be traditional lighting in the community. However, we will deactivate them an hour earlier. Additionally, the lanterns on the main square will feature stars. We won’t plant the new Christmas tree on the main square until spring,” says local manager Rainer Handlfinger.
