NEW YORK – Authorities are looking for a suspect in the robbery and stabbing of a 27-year-old man on a subway platform in Manhattan’s busy Union Square station, New York City police said.
At around 4:00 p.m. on Friday, officers said the victim was getting off an N train and the alleged thief grabbed the backpack that contained about $420 and started walking on the platform. At that point, the 27-year-old man allegedly began following the suspect to recover his property and they got into a verbal fight, police added.
The alleged robber drew a knife and slashed the left side of the victim’s face before fleeing.
The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene.
