Bundesliga – victories for Leipzig, Munich Hertha and Bochum

Bayer Leverkusen left bottom of the table with a 2-0 (1-0) win over VfB Stuttgart and thus their third consecutive win towards midfield. Hertha BSC ended the year with a 2-0 (1-0) win against 1. FC Köln, thus overcoming Stuttgart in the relegation battle. After a 1-0 (0-0) win at troubled FC Augsburg, VfL Bochum are just one point behind VfB in 17th place, while VfL Wolfsburg won 2-1 (1-1) against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

In the evening match, leaders FC Bayern Munich won their last game before the break of the World Cup 2-0 (1-0) against bottom side FC Schalke 04. The goals were scored by Serge Gnabry in the 38th minute and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in the 52nd minute. With that, Monaco have picked up 34 points and are six points clear of Leipzig.

In the last game of matchday 15 on Sunday, SC Freiburg and 1. FC Union Berlin have a chance for second place in a direct duel (17:30). If pursuers Bayern draw, Eintracht Frankfurt could top both sides by beating FSV Mainz 05 (15:30).
