Keith Levene, guitarist and founder of punk bands The Clash and Public Image Ltd (PiL) died aged 65, New Musical Express (NME) reports on Saturday. Keith Levense began his career at age 15 as a roadie for the symphonic rock band Yes.
In 1978 he founded The Clash with singer Joe Strummer. However, he left the group before he could record a single song. After the Sex Pistols disbanded, the musician created PiL, with Johnny Lydon.
