The bladder consists of an elastic tissue and can therefore stretch. But if you do it often, the bladder can stretch and thus lose its compression,” explains urologist De Kort. As a result, you can “pee” less well and urine can remain in the bladder. This increases the risk of infections.
According to Laetitia, a stretched bladder can even cause kidney damage in the worst cases. According to another urologist, Olaf Vrooman, you should never hold in your pee for more than four hours.

Don’t urinate too often
