The general secretary of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, criticized this Saturday the “mortgage” that Pedro Sánchez contracted with the separatists to “continue to be president of the government” by repealing the crime of sedition. Having said that, he said “Sánchez showed an absolute contempt for the truth and an absolute lust for power.”
Cuca Gamarra participated this Saturday in Medrano (La Rioja) in the closing ceremony of the regional convention of the PP ‘Fight against rural depopulation’. A meeting which, throughout the morning, brought together the mayors and councilors of this political formation in La Rioja.
During her speech, the number 2 of the PP regretted Pedro Sánchez’s decision on the crime of sedition, also assuring that the president of the Spanish government “lied to the Spaniards”.
He did so because – as Gamarra recalled – “when Sánchez ran as candidate he said he would insure Puigdemont, bring him to justice and classify the crime of a referendum as illegal as well as aggravate the penalties for the crime of sedition”.
That said, “today we note that the opposite has taken place, proposing the abrogation of the crime of sedition”. In short, indicated Gamarra, “what Pedro Sánchez did yesterday was pay for his political survival”.
And it does so, moreover, “by discrediting the work of the judiciary”.
In this way, Gamarra asked himself: “Who wins with this reform, who benefits from it or who is helped by these measures? Our framework for coexistence”.
“SÁNCHEZ LEAVES THE SPANISH”
According to the secretary general of the PP, with these actions “Sánchez only demonstrates that the Spaniards do not have the president they deserve because, in difficult moments, he abandons them”.
Thus, he insisted, Sánchez “focuses only on what he needs to stay in power, for him every end justifies the means but that is not the case” because “in no European democracy are those who attack their own democracy rewarded and Nor is it a law dictated by those who have broken the law. This only happens in our country and we must reverse it.”
Furthermore, and faced with this situation, the PP asks: “we already know what Pedro Sánchez is capable of, but is there anyone behind the PSOE, is he left of socialism or has ‘Sanchismo’ devoured him, what do the barons think ? socialists to repeal the crime of sedition?”.
Even here in La Rioja, “Andreu and the PSOE should explain why they surrender to the separatists or if they take the words of Pere Aragonès when he questions our democracy”. “Spaniards and the judiciary deserve more respect.”
Finally, Gamarra asked Patxi López “not to give us lessons” because “he became lehendakari with the votes of the PP, without expecting anything in return, only that he curb nationalism. He also rejected the constitutionalists “and this is demonstrated here”. the huge difference between PP and PSOE”.
“Today Oriol Junqueras, convicted of sedition and embezzlement, says he is happy and today it is being shown that the fuel for independence is given by the PSOE and Pedro Sánchez.
THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE
“Today – he continued – the red carpet is rolled out with impunity but beware, there is a future, a hope and an alternative, with the People’s Party”.
At this point, “we are committed to reversing this situation and reclassifying all these crimes, to strengthen the state and restore prestige to the institutions to ensure democratic quality,” Gamarra defended.
“When we return to government, we will restore Spanish democracy to the level of the rest of European democracies”.
BALL SPORTS AMENDMENT
Furthermore, and in another order of things, Gamarra also took advantage of his speech to affirm from the pediment of Medrano where the act took place that “the dance belongs to everyone”.
So, he said, “we claim that there is only one team, the Spanish one. If Sánchez is guilty of nationalism and gives them sport to carry out their project, the PP says no.”
Having said that, he also asked himself “what does the president of La Rioja think, is she willing to give up the ball so that there is a Basque team against the interests of Spain and La Rioja?
From the PP, he assured, “we specify to the people of La Rioja that we will continue to defend everything that unites us, not what divides us and we will present an amendment to the sports law to the Senate to reverse this barbarism. Sport does not serve to build nationalist projects or to confront the Spaniards”.
