The private bus that followed rushed towards the passenger who had got off the bus; The passenger escaped unharmed. Yesterday morning the Hevin bus which had left for Koilandi from Vadakara stopped in the middle of the road in front of a clothing shop in Koilandi while the following Chinnu bus whizzed by on the left hand side. The accident was averted because the bus suddenly stopped the bus that was arriving in front of the young woman who started walking.
The video was circulated on social media. The drivers of both buses were summoned yesterday afternoon for a hearing by the Joint RTO. A notice has been issued for buses. Further action will be taken after receiving the response. The driver’s license of Chinnoos bus has been suspended by Koilandi Joint RTO. A letter has been sent to the RTO to cancel the bus permit. Locals have claimed that competition from private buses is causing such accidents.
