Toprak Razgatlioglu, a Pata Yamaha rider in the Superbike world championship, was curious about ketoprak. Even though he already knew the name was similar to this Indonesian food, Toprak admitted he hadn’t tasted it.
“Yes, Ketoprak. I know. I knew last year, Ketoprak,” Toprak said.
Toprak said he was curious about ketoprak because Indonesian netizens often write about it in their personal Instagram address book. The Turkish pilot also admitted that he has never tried ketoprak, although he already knows the form of this food.
“But I haven’t tried it yet. I saw the comments written on Instagram. Ketoprak.. ketoprak.. And finally here, I directly asked what ketoprak was. And it turned out that it was Indonesia,” Toprak said when met at Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara on Friday (11/11/2022).
Toprak admits that he has seen ketoprak food. But he has not met Ketoprak in person.
“I saw it from the photo,” she added.
On the other hand, Toprak doesn’t get upset when his name gets associated with Indonesian food.
“People here like to smile,” Toprak said.
His teammate, Andrea Locatelli, is also of a similar opinion. According to him, Indonesians are fun.
“It’s funny because you smile a lot, and it’s funny when you see the bikes. People spread positive sides. I really like Indonesia,” added Locatelli.
As for the world title fight, Toprak admitted he’s not bothered. The 2021 World Superbike world champion wants to reset three victories at WSBK 2022, namely the superpole race, race 1 and race 2.
“I’m not thinking about chasing the championship title. Because the distance is too long. I’m just focused on trying to win in three races this week,” said Toprak.
Of the 10 2022 WSBK series contested, Bautista has collected 507 points. Way ahead of reigning champion Toprak Razgatlioglu (Yamaha) who has 425 points and Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki) who is in third place with 409 points.
As quoted by the WSBK official website, with a maximum total of 124 points still to be contested in the two series, Bautista can boast the title in Race 1 of WSBK Mandalika, if he manages to have a 17-point lead over Toprak and 1 point over Rea, because Bautista must have 99 points difference.
