The World One supercomputer, designed to predict civilizational patterns, has predicted when humanity will disappear, reports the British newspaper The Daily Star.
According to the calculations of the machine commissioned by the Club of Rome in the 70s, the collapse of civilization will occur in 2050. The cause of the end of the world will be human activity, in particular pollution and its negative consequences.
“Around 2040-2050, civilized life as we know it on this planet will cease to exist,” the forecast says. Even a complete switch to “green” cars and strict birth control won’t improve the situation.
The Daily Star recalls that World One’s forecasts for 2020 state that the state of the planet will be “extremely critical”.
Climatologist Johan Rockström has previously said that in less than 50 years mass emigration from Brazil, India, Africa and the Middle East could begin due to rising temperatures. The scientist predicts that a warming of 2.4 degrees will have unpredictable and “catastrophic” consequences for the Earth, creating completely new conditions for life. Some parts of the planet will likely cease to be habitable.
