Last night in the National Hockey League (NHL) Columbus Blue Jackets represented by Elvja Merzlikina with the result 5: 2 beat former manager John Tortorella’s Philadelphia Flyers, breaking a five-game losing streak.
Merzlikin watched this game from the bench, but in his “Blue Jackets” goal, Jonas Korpisalo played a good game, saving 32 of the 34 shots of the “Flyers” hockey players, or 94.1%. Johnny Goodreau and Zach Werenski gave Columbus a 2-0 lead in the first period.
Meanwhile, in the 37th second of the second period, Blue Jackets captain Boone Jenner scored 3-0. As the period progressed, Anthony DeAngelo recovered a goal for the Flyers, but Ivan Provorov minimized the difference in the final 20 minutes of regular time. Later, both Nick Blankenburg and Jenner sent the puck into the Flyers’ already empty port.
In another game, Zemgus Girgensons and the Buffalo Sabers recognized the superiority of the Vegas Golden Knights with a score of 4: 7. Girgenson spent 13 minutes and 39 seconds on the ice, during which time he was not registered in the protocol and ended the match with a neutral odds ratio.
Golden Knights striker Jack Eikel shocked his former team with a hat-trick, while also adding an assist. Chandler Stevenson, Phil Kessel, Paul Cotter and Alex Pietrangelo also scored for the winners. Meanwhile, in the unit represented by Girgenson, Tage Thompson added two accurate shots to his tally, while Casey Mittlestad and Rasmus Asplund were accurate once.
