the Germans are advised to leave the city

November 11, 1918: the armistice is signed that puts an end to a terrible war that has caused ten million deaths and about eight million disabled. On this date, the Germans are invited to leave the posts they still occupy. Diedenhofen it’s on their list, just like Dieuze, Longwy, Metz or Saint-Avold.
