The actor made sacrifices for the iconic role.
Said from the movie “White Sun of the Desert” it glorified Spartak Mishulin throughout the Soviet Union. Until now, the actor has been associated with that silent hero, saved by comrade Sukhov. Few people know that during the filming Mishulin had to hide from his colleagues in the theater.
A wig came to his aid. The actor did not tell anyone about the shooting of Vladimir Motyl’s film. The fact is that the head of the theater, Valentin Pluchek, where Mishulin played, strictly prohibited his wards from acting in films. However, the actor not only disobeyed, but even shaved his hair for the role of Said. To hide his baldness from colleagues and superiors, he started wearing a wig.
But one day the “cover” failed Mishulin. During rehearsals, his hair slipped off his head, and this was noticed not only by colleagues, but also by Pluchek himself.
The enraged director knew immediately what the problem was. But when the art director learned that Mishulin was involved in the filming of Motyl, he immediately cooled down. Pluchek respected the master for his films, so he allowed his actor to star in The White Sun of the Desert.
