Emirates News Agency – State Control Institution Launches Guide to Professional Cooperation Between Regulatory Agencies and Anti-Corruption Bodies

ABU DHABI, November 10 / WAM / The State Audit Bureau launched the professional guidance for cooperation between regulatory agencies and anti-corruption bodies during the main session of the opening session of the 24th session of the International Congress of Audit Institutions, which will be hosted by Brazil in Rio de Janeiro in the period from 7 to 11 November, in the presence of their Excellencies Ministers, heads of the INTOSAI supervisory bodies and representatives of international and regional organizations.
His Excellency Dr. Hareb Al-Amimi, President of the State Audit Bureau, said that the launch of this guide is part of the project to implement the Abu Dhabi Declaration issued by the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption. It reflects the UAE government’s interest and enthusiasm for the participation of the international community in its efforts to combat corruption and reduce its harmful effects on societies and peoples.
His Excellency recalled that the Audit Bureau leads an international working group in charge of activating the memorandum of understanding signed between INTOSAI and the United Nations, in order to make use of the skills of the supervisory bodies in the process of protection against corruption, identification and punishment of its authors, so as to ensure the conservation of public funds, contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and assists countries in achieving the objectives of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
