The Lebanese Red Cross took charge of transporting the victims to the border with Syria in the Al-Arida area, to deliver them to the Syrian Red Crescent, which in turn would deliver them to the Kurdish Red Crescent.

According to information, nine of the migrants who drowned at sea came from the canton of Kobani and one from the city of Latakia.

On Wednesday, the Observatory released a video clip, documenting the transfer of Syrian families to the bodies of their relatives who drowned off the Algerian coast as they tried to cross illegal immigration boats to Europe.

The video depicts a column of cars traveling on the road from Manbij to Ain al-Arab in Kobani, in the eastern Aleppo countryside, where most of the victims come from.

Contact with the affected ship carrying Syrian migrants was lost on 2 October, a few hours after its departure, it was later confirmed that the boat sank and that all passengers on board died, most of the city of Kobani, except one young man who managed to survive.

The bodies of 12 drowned people were found by Kobani, two of whom were still transported to Algeria, and ten of them reached Syria, one of them was delivered to Lattakia, one to Manbij and eight to Kobani.
