Marrakech hosts the activities of the fourth edition of the Moroccan Poetry Festival

The House of Poetry of Marrakech organizes the activities of the fourth edition of the Moroccan Poetry Festival, from 11 to 13 November in Marrakech. The fourth edition of the festival honors poet and researcher Ahmed Belhaj Ait Warham, poet Hassani Khadija Labidi Naha and poet Amazigh Mohamed Wakarr, in continuing to celebrate Moroccan cultural diversity. The winners of the two competitions will also be crowned: Best Poetry and Poetry Criticism for young poets, critics and researchers, in its fourth session.

The opening ceremony, which will be hosted by the gardens of Arsat Moulay Abdel Salam on Friday 11 November at 4:30 pm, and which presents his media paragraphs, Ikram Al-Azraq, will witness the inauguration of the Huroufiat 7/7 exhibition, with the participation of seven artists in an exhibition organized over seven days, they are: Mohamed Teverdin, Abdel Rahim Hamza, Rashid Zizi, Arshkek Lamleih, Abdelilah Al Hilali, Abdullah Borka’a, Lahcen Al Farsiwi, while the calligrapher and researcher, Dr. Muhammad Al-Bandawi, presents these events. The opening night will also see, at five in the evening, poetry readings by poets: Abdel-Din Hamroush, Amina Lamrini and Mohamed Al-Saber, followed by a concert with the brilliant artist Magda Al-Yahawy, accompanied by the Jilali Emthered Band for Melhoun Art, in addition to the illustrious participation of the artist Rachid Zeroual performing musical instruments on the flute.

The activities of the second day of the festival will continue, Saturday 12 November, starting at ten in the morning, at the Sharkawy Iqbal Amphitheater of the Faculty of Arabic Language in Marrakech, with the organization of the festival forum on the theme “Poetry and questions of diversity “, with the participation of critics and researchers: Saeed Al-Awadi, Montana Ma Al-Enein, Mubarak Abaazi. . The seminar is supervised by the poet Mourad Kadri, head of the House of Poetry in Morocco. Then, the pioneers of poetry will have an appointment with the second poetry session, within the “Diafa” segment, with the participation of poets: Muhammad Belmo, Dalila Fakhri, Asmaa Adali and Ed Bahy.

Perhaps the selection, fulcrum of the festival symposium, “Poetry and questions of diversity”, translates this founding desire, which has always been present in the program of the sessions of the Moroccan Poetry Festival, to create cultural diversity, which constitutes the richness and fertilization of the Moroccan poetic experience, a pure and creative horizon and identity for this quality cultural initiative.

The choice of thinking about the future is added, after the House of Poetry was founded in Marrakech, and through its celebration of the pioneers of Moroccan poetry, of its generations, experiences, sensitivity and current events, they wanted to think about cultivating issues of poetics writing between young poets and a basic and tributary age group of the future, namely children and adolescents.

The launch of the Best Poem and Poetic Criticism awards for young poets, critics and researchers is inspired only by lights and radiance that seek to connect the past of Moroccan poetry with its present and future.

The main hall of the Rawabi Hotel at 16:00 will assist in the organization of a moment of dialogue with the winners of the fourth session of the Moroccan Poetry Festival: Khadija Abedi Al-Naha; Ahmed Belhadj Ait Warham; Mohammed and repeat.

The activities of the fourth edition of the festival will end on Sunday 13 November, in the main hall (Hotel Rawabi), with the organization of a “Moroccan Poem” at half past ten in the morning, with the participation of poets: Ismail Ait Idar, Abdelhak Adnan, Al-Salama Hamidi, Umm Al-Eid Adnani, in celebration of poets from The Future, and poet Badr Habol ensures it is presented, while artist Mina Jawawi participates in the musical accompaniment. This morning session ends with the distribution of participation certificates, for male and female users, season 5 (2021/2022), for poetry writing workshops (for children, adolescents and young people), to more than 100 beneficiaries.

At 6:30 pm the fourth session of the Moroccan Poetry Festival ends in the garden of Arsat Moulay Abdel Salam, with the organization of a “Poetry Visions” segment with the participation of poets: Lahcen Lasaibi, Mounir Al-Idrisi, Zakia Al- Marmouk, Kamal Akali. Presented by the poet Maryam Al-Maimouni, and by the artist, Wesal Hatem, with Mohamed Ait Al-Qadi and Yassin Al-Razi, it will illuminate her artistic paragraphs. The “ABCs and Music” segment constitutes the closing ceremony of the festival, where brilliant artist Nabila Maan and her band led by Tarek Hilal will perform in the final concert.

The fourth session of the Moroccan Poetry Festival, here in Marrakech, after the House of Poetry of Marrakech was able to open last year the cultural and artistic events in Morocco, organizing the third session of this festival, which constituted a title of hope .
