India has announced its desire to explore the dark side of the moon and to send an expedition to Venus, Mars and the Moon, in partnership with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in Japan.
The space agency also plans to send a probe to Mars while making a presentation on future ISRO missions at the Akash Tattva conference, gadgets360 said, citing Physical Research Laboratory director Anil Bhardwaj.
The agency will hold talks with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) to send out a lunar module to explore the moon’s permanent shadow region.
According to initial plans, the ISRO-built lunar lander and rover will be put into orbit by a Japanese rocket with an expected landing near the moon’s south pole.
“The boat will then travel to the permanent shadow of the moon, which never sees sunlight,” said Bhardwaj. “Exploring the region was fun because everything left in the RDP region was like deep freezing cold for a long time.
