Darmstadt (dpa / lhe) – – Second division leaders SV Darmstadt 98 enter the final sprint before the World Cup break with optimism despite considerable staff concerns. “We have enough guys eager to play a competitive match in front of a fantastic crowd in Magdeburg. Everyone knows how noisy the stadium can be,” coach Torsten Lieberknecht said Tuesday. “Lilien” are guests of the newly promoted Thursday (20:30) and want to consolidate their lead over Hamburger SV with a win.
“It will be a challenge, but we are looking forward to the biggest match on Thursday night,” said Lieberknecht. The staff situation remains tense. None of the injured will return, not even Aaron Seydel. The appearances of Jannik Müller and Christoph Zimmermann are also questionable. “However, we look forward, we do not complain”, explained Lieberknecht.
