A man’s house in Northern California burned down overnight. Firefighters believe the cause of the large-scale fire was a meteor.
According to reports from local media such as CNN and the New York Post on the 6th (local time), Dustin Prosita, who lives in Nevada County, Northern California, reported on the fire at around 7:30 p.m. on the 4th.
The owner of the house, Prosita, said she was in the house with two dogs at the time, and the fire broke out after a roar was heard.
It took the firefighters an hour and a half to get to the scene and put out the fire, but at that time they could not find the exact cause of the fire. However, while investigating the cause of the fire, witnesses continued to witness a meteor falling around the scene at the time of the accident.
In the current SNS, it wasn’t hard to find videos and photos of bright light falling from the dark sky at the same time. No one was injured in the accident, but one of the owner’s dogs and several animals were killed and the owner’s house and car were burned in an unrecognizable shape.
Firefighters said: “At first somebody mentioned a meteor (as the cause of the fire), but I wasn’t sure at the time.”
He continued: “All the nearby residents said that a ‘fireball’ fell from the sky. In the video recorded at the time, a phenomenon similar to the testimonies of the residents was confirmed.”
“Firefighters said the chance of being hit by a meteor was one in four trillion (even if I lost my home),” the homeowner said in an interview with local media.
