Chest pain can be similar in the case of stomach acid and heart attack, and some may not be able to differentiate between the two, and therefore necessary measures are not taken in critical cases.

In the following lines, the “Consultation” examines how to distinguish between chest pain during acidity and a heart attack, according to the “Health Line” website.

Chest pain associated with a heart attack

A heart attack occurs when the heart’s main artery fails to pump blood adequately, so certain areas of the heart are not getting the blood and oxygen they need.

In this case, the person experiences burning pain in the lungs with numbness in the chest and slow heartbeat, and the condition does not improve by changing the sitting position, and the pain can be described as:

Sudden pain, not related to a cause.

– wheezing.

Pain or discomfort in the neck, jaw or back.

Feeling of discomfort in one or both shoulders.

Feeling of weakness and stress.

There are some other symptoms associated with a heart attack, which differ from person to person due to the different nature of our body’s response to lack of blood flow and oxygen.

Chest pain associated with stomach acid

Heartburn occurs when stomach acid travels up the esophagus, the tube that connects the mouth and stomach, and sometimes the acid reaches the mouth.

Stomach acidity is related to food and daily diet, so controlling the foods consumed can prevent this problem.

Since the esophageal wall does not contain the same type of stomach tissue, acidity causes a burning sensation, pain and discomfort in the chest, but can be distinguished by:

Pain usually occurs after eating.

Sensation of sour taste in the mouth.

A burning sensation in the throat.
