Pensions are on the rise even without regular government
Pensions will be automatically updated by 12% from 1 July 2023 according to the mechanism in force in the Social Security Code. And this will happen regardless of whether there is a regular government. This was clear from a statement by the interim minister of labor and social policy, Lazar Lazarov, in a televised interview. From the beginning of the new year, for example, the poverty threshold will increase by 22% and become BGN 504. This will automatically increase all social benefits linked to it by 22%.
