NasDem responded to the statement by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) that the presidential election of 2024 could be a “ration” for the defense minister and general president of Gerindra. Prabowo Subianto. NasDem praised the figure of Prabowo.
“I think it’s good. After all, Pak Prabowo is one of the politicians still worthy of participating in the upcoming presidential elections. He is the party leader, his eligibility is still good. Willy thinks it reasonable that Jokowi appreciates Prabowo. He also raised Gerindra’s steps that led Jokowi during the 2012 DKI regional elections.
“Also, he is Mr. Jokowi’s minister. It is natural that Mr. Jokowi gives him his appreciation. Also, Gerindra was a party that supported Mr. Jokowi as a candidate for governor of the DKI,” he said.
However, Willy said his party still supports Anies Baswedan in the 2024 presidential election. According to him, Anies represents the spirit of change and sustainability.
“However, NasDem itself tends to be fresher and younger. That’s why NasDem said Mas Anies. There is a spirit of change in him as in the NasDem Party slogan, as well as a spirit of sustainability,” he said.
“Sustainability means maintaining and preserving something that is already good for what its predecessors did. Changes are efforts to build something that does not yet exist or to improve or upgrade what already exists for the better,” he continued.
Willy believes Prabowo also do the same. According to him, it is impossible for the next leader not to pursue an agenda of change and sustainability.
“I think Pak Prabowo will definitely do the same thing. Because it is impossible for us not to make changes as it is impossible for us not to continue what has been maintained for a long time. So, change and sustainability are a necessity,” he said. .
Jokowi’s statement is known to have been made during a speech at Perindo’s anniversary event at the iNews Tower in central Jakarta on Monday (11/7/2022). Jokowi initially reminded the electoral period for the mayor of Solo to the governor of the DKI.
“This time, the mayor of Solo won twice, then he was attracted to Jakarta, the governor won once,” Jokowi said.
Jokowi was then promoted to run for presidential elections and twice managed to win the political contest. He then apologized to Prabowo Subianto alluding to the fact that the next stake was Prabowo’s stake.
