Fei Fengbo, an assistant to Gao Hongan, the mayoral candidate of the Hsinchu People’s Party, confirmed that the Bureau of Investigation had received a report from an informant and opened a case for investigation. However, some media have questioned whether the whistleblower part of the interview “blew the wind” and the interview was conducted before the election. The Bureau of Investigation clarified that it never disclosed the relevant facts of the case. Gao Hongan himself held a press conference on the 7th to explain doubts about assistants’ fees and other people’s involvement in marriages, and on the afternoon of the 7th he went to the mobile post in the north area of the Bureau of Investigation to explain, pointing out that he hoped that justice would return his innocence.
Gao Hongan said that in addition to presenting evidence at Beiji Station, including the content of the substantive work of the assistant surnamed Li, he also filed a complaint against the media’s false news, hoping to investigate. Gao Hongan stressed that if the information is really provided today from an informant’s point of view, it should also be given to the prosecution unit, rather than being given to competitors for distorted, wrong and harmful interpretations. Regarding the alleged misappropriation of public funds for the purchase of lunch, dinner and shampoo expenses, Gao Hongan said that perhaps the assistant will pay the expenses first, but the administrative director will ask her for money later.
The Bureau of Investigation issued a press release stating that the entire case was reported to the Bureau after the Taipei City Investigation Bureau received the reported information from the public and was sent to the investigation station of the city of Hsinchu from the headquarters of the Office for processing. the workplace in the northern region took over. Beiji Station has conducted important evidence-gathering actions in accordance with the established investigation plan and has not yet interviewed the whistleblower or other related parties.
The Bureau of Investigation stressed that the Beiji station will maintain the position of administrative neutrality to handle the case in accordance with the law and will strictly adhere to the principle of non-disclosure of the investigation and will never reveal the case in question to the outside world.
