Tugumalang.id – Cases of dengue haemorrhagic fever (DBD) from Malang city there were 600 cases registered as of October 2022. These figures were revealed by the head of the health office of the city of Malang (Dinkes) Dr Husnul Mu’arif, on Monday (7/11/2022).
“Finally, almost 600 cases until last October (2022). If it is calculated until December, there will be more in 2021, “she said.
According to an infographic uploaded from the Malang City Health Bureau’s Instagram account, data on DHF for 2021 recorded 261 cases with 3 of them dead. While the number of cases as of September 2022, there were 489 cases with 11 deaths.
This means that even if not even a year has passed, the number of cases of dengue fever in Malang is known to have increased dramatically, estimated to have doubled.
Dr Husnul added that the age group affected by dengue disease is higher in school-aged children. To be precise, between 7 and 20 years old.
Meanwhile, the largest number of cases, he added, have been in two sub-districts, namely Blimbing district and Sukun district.
“If most (cases) are actually distributed almost evenly, the difference isn’t too much. First in the Blimbing district, then in the Sukun district. The difference is between 10 and 20 people,” he continued.
For this reason, he urged the community to be more disciplined in applying a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS). Primarily, cover the places that often become puddles and mosquito larvae nests.
“DHF is a disease every year and the cause is definitely a puddle used as a breeding ground for the Aedes aegypti mosquito. If there is no puddle, it means there are no mosquito seeds. So it must be cleaned by uprooting mosquito nests. “, he said.
