“Let’s continue the change” does not take a step back with the meeting with GERB. The co-chair of the party, Asen Vassilev, commented on this in “On fire with Lora Krumova”. He made it clear that they have refused a meeting with Borisov’s formation to support a government and continue to refuse.
“We have clearly stated that we are the opposition and do not support the mandate of GERB. As far as I know, Desislava Atanasova organized this meeting with Andrey Gyurov,” he clarified. Vassilev felt that everyone was trying to create an intrigue. “It has become clear that the GERB does not have a majority in this parliament,” the PP co-chair also said.
According to him, if Borisov’s party had a majority in the 48th parliament, Rosen Zhelyazkov would have been the president of the National Assembly and would have had a government. “Since they don’t have a majority, they are trying to obscure the whole situation to hide their weakness,” is his opinion. Vassilev was adamant that the answer to a coalition with GERB was “no”.
According to him, the possibility of the third term going to “democratic Bulgaria” is zero due to the president’s attitude towards the party. Making a toilet with him sounded like “science fiction”. “If he leaves, we have to see what they will offer,” he stressed. The co-president of the PP said he was “very skeptical” that there will be a government.
When asked if there is a division in “Continue the change”, Vassilev replied: “No”. And on the contradictions in the party: «There are always contradictions. This is the best. There is always a personal opinion and there are no sanctions for personal opinion “, Vassilev specified. Not even the lobbies were formed.
Regarding the criticism of the services, expressed to the president, Vassilev said: “What we very often receive from DANS and some of the other services is an essay. We are not receiving real information, evidence, but an essay on “A Woman Said”, he explained.
