New oil and gas reserves found in South Sumatra

GIACARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Special Task Force for Oil and Gas (SKK Migas) said it was found oil reserves and new gas through the drilling of the Sungai Sungai Selatan-1 (SAS-1) well in the village of Melilian Gelumbang, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra on Friday (11/4/2022).

From the results of the drilling, an oil content of 1,983 barrels per day (BOPD) and gas 1.3 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) with a pipe pressure of 150 psi was detected.

Chief Representative SKK Migas Sumbagsel Anggono Mahendrawan said there is potential for further drilling production to reach 2000 BOPD of oil because the pipe pressure is still increasing to 600 psi.

“We have verified and Sele Raya carried out a flow rate for 1 hour for test zone 1 of the SAS-1 well and the conditions are very good,” he said in a press release, quoted on Sunday (11/6/2022).

He added that currently the Sele Raya KKKS with the support of the Sumbagsel representative’s SKK Migas Operations Division is conducting the Modified Isochronal Test (MIT) to determine the scope and development of the SAS-1 well.

Next week until the end of November, SKK Migas and Sele Raya Belida will pre-drill or drill the concrete layer and should find even better reserves.

Meanwhile, well drilling and maintenance operations division chief Surya Widyantoro said the discovery of oil and gas through the SAS-1 well in Gelumbang, Muara Enim Regency, was a breath of fresh air for the industry. upstream oil and gas.

“The discovery of oil and gas by the Sele Raya Belida KKKS is proof that this industry is very concerned about increasing national oil and gas production by conducting exploration,” Surya said.

Surya added that this discovery could inspire oil and gas industry workers and other KKKS to continue exploring and exploiting oil and gas to reach the goal of 1 million barrels of oil and 12 billion cubic feet of gas in the 2030.

For information, since May 2022 the exploration well of the South Wine River-1 (SAS-1) has been drilled.

The drilling site is located in the border area between Melilian village, Gelumbang district and Tapus village, Lembak district, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra.
