In 2021, the American Civil Engineering Society awarded American infrastructure a C rating. Since then, Joe Biden has approved a major multi-billion dollar bipartisan plan to upgrade this infrastructure. Some places in the country are particularly disadvantaged: this is the case of Mississippi, the poorest state in the United States, where the inhabitants of the city of Jackson have spent six weeks without drinking water after the floods have made the water already scarce, totally inactive. The state will receive $ 429 million to solve the water problem, but according to local authorities it would take twice as much for the city of Jackson alone.
