A Norwegian man in his twenties was arrested on Saturday evening in Denmark. He was wanted by the Polish police, suspected of killing his Polish girlfriend and kidnapping their common child.
The man is from Vestland, Arne Fjellstad, the attorney on duty in the Vest Police District, confirms to BA.
– I can confirm that a woman was found dead. The deceased will be subjected to an autopsy, says Sebastian Glen, a spokesman for the Polish police TV 2. The spokesman also claims that he was wanted a Norwegian man suspected of killing the woman.
Polish media reports that a 26-year-old woman was found dead in her home in the Polish town of Oświęcim, known in Norwegian and German as Auschwitz, 50 kilometers west of Krakow in southern Poland.
The same police in Copenhagen confirmed that at 2237 on Saturday evening they arrested a Norwegian in the city. Closed doors are required when the man is to be presented for imprisonment.
Found in good condition
– She was killed and we suspect her boyfriend is involved. He is a 25 year old man from Norway. He is also suspected of kidnapping his five-year-old daughter, Krakow police spokesman Sebastian Glen says NRK.
The woman was found dead at 5pm on Saturday afternoon. She was found by her father, who searched for her after she couldn’t make contact, according to the Polish press. The Norwegian citizen suspected of the murder was living with the woman.
At 11:13 pm on Saturday night, Polish police reported on Twitter that the child was found safe and sound in Denmark. The child was found when the car driving the wanted man was stopped by the Danish police. The Norwegian wanted man was arrested at the same time.

Police spokesman in Krakow says the girl is on her way to her grandfather in Poland.
The newspaper writes that the Polish police will now ask the Danish police to extradite the man from Denmark to Poland.

The Ritzau news agency tried to contact all Danish police districts, making contact with most of them. But none of them confirmed that such an arrest took place in their district.
