Chathamangalam: The president of the Koduvalli Municipal Corporation said the river in Pullavur is within their limits. The municipality has not received any complaints for clippings erected by football fans. He said that even if a complaint is received, the municipality will stand up for the football fans.
Tests have shown that the clippings won’t cause any damage to the river. He clarified that the clippings will not be removed and will not be asked to be changed and if the legal question arises, it will be discussed. Chathamangalam gram panchayat authorities had instructed fans to change Messi and Neymar’s clippings into Pullavur Cherupuzha, which went viral around the world.
The lawyer he demanded that the vents that had been installed in violation of the rules be removed to obstruct the natural flow of the river. Sreejith Perumana filed an online complaint with Chathamangalam Secretary Gram Panchayat. In the complaint, measures should be taken to remove it as soon as possible and information on the action taken in writing should be provided. The complaint also stated that if no action is taken, legal action will be taken.
As the secretary of the gram panchayat was on leave, the junior superintendent arrived on site and instructed those who installed the cutout to remove it. At the same time, Chathamangalam President Panchayat Ghafoor informed that no instructions were given to remove the clippings. The investigation was conducted on the basis of a complaint lodged by a lawyer. He also clarified that no notice has been issued for the modification of the clippings.
