The funeral for the victims of the 10.29 am disaster ended today.
The government has announced that tomorrow it will hold a “national security system inspection meeting” chaired by the president.

Today, the 8th day after the 10.29 am disaster, the funeral of 130 Korean victims concluded.
The government said 17 of the 26 foreign victims have completed their funerals and 6 of them are scheduled to perform procedures such as transporting the bodies this week.
He also said that although the official mourning period has ended, he will continue to support the victims.
The government will hold a “National Security System Inspection Meeting” tomorrow chaired by the president and from the 10th it is decided to intensively inspect the facilities for local festivals and multiple facilities, as well as the risk factors in the event of a crowd gathering.

Earlier, Prime Minister Han Deok-soo once again stressed the responsibility of the government and local governments at a central security and disaster countermeasures headquarters meeting and ordered the manual to be checked.

An estimated 117,000 mourners visited the common incense site for the victims of the “10.29 disaster” installed in Seoul Plaza and 25 autonomous districts of Seoul by 10pm last night.
As the national mourning period ended, the joint incense burner in Seoul Plaza ceased to function and was demolished, but the joint incense burner in Noksapyeong Station Square in Yongsan-gu will remain in operation until the 12th.
