Recently, HoYoverse released a major 3.2 update for Genshin Impact. In addition to the new content, the patch added AMD’s FSR 2 upscaling technology to the game and, for some reason, removed the SMAA and TAA anti-aliasing options.
Gamers did not like these changes, because we are talking about two different tools that are not interchangeable and could work perfectly together. The game’s subreddit immediately sparked heated debate and users started posting screenshots comparing FSR 2, SMAA, and TAA.
The developers have drawn attention to the problem and have already promised to fix it, however, only half of it. In one of the future updates, the study will return the SMAA option, but TAA appears to have been phased out forever.
Genshin Impact available for free on PC, PS4, PS5 and smartphone.
