Unfortunately The most visible evidence to date is the example of the largest AAA productions. From time to time the rates increase, and there was much talk about it, for example, on the occasion of the premiere of the new generation of consoles, where along with the increase in the capabilities of the equipment, the prices of the video games we also run on them increased. Recently, recommendations to this effect have also been made by Steam, and if we followed them, we Poles would get hurt too.
So this is a situation that is obviously pretty poor. The positives are hard to findbecause in practice they probably don’t exist. But when life doesn’t give us so much lemons, but throws them in our face, it remains to dodge, pick them up and then prepare the lemonade. When situations arise that don’t necessarily go right, try to treat them as an opportunity to take a different path.
Independent games
In this case, indie games can be a rescue. The market for this type of production it is infinitely large todaybut unfortunately still very underestimated. I have the impression that in some circles indie titles are almost reduced to the simplest mobiles created for a hoof and just to generate profit from meaningless ad views. And this is very, very far from the truth.
Indie games are largely characterized by the fact that they have a little soul. Sure, by definition, we can also link them to profit-oriented games, but let’s stick to the assumptions and romantic approach to game development: let’s just focus on those in which developers (be they small groups or individuals) invest huge sums of money. time, heart and dedication.
And this makes many of these productions uncompromising. They are unique, unusual and far from AAA gameswhich must be adapted to a large audience. The Turks benefit from the fact that they don’t have to meet general assumptions to sell to the tens of millions. They don’t have to chase trends, placate investors, or even take care of any fairness or structure. They are what they should be from the start.
More importantly, however, the prices are sometimes so low (in relation to the content and possibilities offered) that could be considered a same-day robbery. Sure, sometimes the costs are inappropriate and definitely overrated, but in many cases these are almost promotional rates. And there are so many options to choose from that there is always something to be found. How come? Because it’s really …
Infinite world
Yes, you get the impression the world of indie games is almost endless. It’s impossible to even tell how many of them make their daily debuts, let alone weeks or months. You can literally get lost in all of this. But it’s wonderful because it makes everyone, even the biggest opponent, find something for themselves. Everyone is able to find titles that perfectly suit their tastes.
After all, I’ve introduced you over the past few months four compilations of this year’s most anticipated independent game releases. After all, there are forty different titles – and only the ones that I personally found interesting, and only the ones that debut within a few months. In the case of AAA production we wouldn’t have made any money, and it’s much simpler here.
And you don’t have to achieve everything – the range of species is extremely wide, and we also have many possibilities in terms of length. We will find games for thirty minutes, three hundred minutes and even 30 hours. And all of this should be the best proof that indie games shouldn’t be labeled negatively. This is, as I have said many times, such a broad subject that it would simply be unfair.
To sum up…
In the form of conclusions and a kind of credibility of my words, I have to write it down I was once reluctant to play games of this kind myself. I was off track with indie productions and considered them underdeveloped, not worth the time spent and, above all, very far from the biggest hits of these high shelves. Imagine my surprise when I fell to my ears.
Today I move around the world of indie titles like a fish in water, although I can still surprise myself. I often find it I am very impressed with what people all over the world are making up. The creativity of the developers will never cease to amaze me and when they are not bound by any top-down command, they can get carried away completely.
So, if I can write you something at the end, then … let yourself be carried away by everything. Of course, these games are difficult to discuss with others, they don’t have such a large audience (although there are exceptions, of course) and they usually live off the conscience of the general public as long as the greatest works, but … they are still large productions. Those that are worth trusting and at the same time those in which you can feel the whole heart of the developers. And with the rising prices there is the best opportunity to get into it.
