Covid data Spain: marked decrease in the incidence in people over the age of 60

The Ministry of Health recorded this Friday, with data provided by the autonomous communities, 17,875 new cases of coronavirus, of which 11,420 occurred in people over the age of 60, bringing the total number of infections to 13,529,643 in Spain since the beginning of the pandemic.

The current average incidence of infections in Spain over the past 14 days in people over 60 has slightly decreased, reaching 185.55 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, compared to 220.14 reported last Friday.

As for the deaths from Covid-19, there were 161 others, of which 59 were reported in the last week. This puts Spain’s world death toll from coronavirus to 115,239 people.

Currently 3,363 patients are hospitalized for Covid-19 throughout Spain (compared to 3,337 last week) and 195 in intensive care (188 were reported last Friday). The occupancy rate of the beds occupied by the coronavirus it stands at 2.7 percent (the same as last week) and in intensive care at 2.23 percent (compared to 2.15 percent last Friday).
