Figéac. National Criterium: the young Fino in gold

We knew the club was well established in the Occitania region, crowned each year with numerous titles and excellent results, but the Fino struck hard last weekend adorning themselves in bronze and gold at the national team’s criterium, which took place in Orleans. .

On Saturday 29th, Sunday 30th and Monday 31st October, the biggest French orientation clubs met in the Loiret, to concatenate various national events. A delegation of thirteen orienteers from Fino (naturalistic orientation of Figeac) defended the colors of the Lot. On Saturday, in the French sprint championship in the center of Orléans, Mathieu Hérault won the bronze in the 14-year-old, confirming his excellent results throughout the year. On Sunday, on the criterium relay of the national team, after a close match, head to head with the best national teams, the young people of Figeac (Baptiste and Mathieu Hérault, Nahia Calmettes and Elian Dellac) snatch the gold medal in the youth relay, just a few seconds ahead of the clubs of Nérac (47) and Avignon (84).

On Monday, in the French night championship, Loïc Marty in the elite (H21) and Mathieu Hérault (H14) both bring back the bronze medal.

In addition to these podiums, the club also recorded several results in the ten best French in its category, for Baptiste Hérault (5th in H16), Elian Dellac (8th in H16), Amélie Pradelle (8th P18) and Martin Ramblière ( 10th H21 elite).

These excellent results reward their collective and individual work between orientation training at Fino, physical preparation in collaboration with the FAC (Figeac athletics club) and specific training weekends with the high-level group from Occitania.

Notable progress thanks to team cohesion and targeted training orchestrated by Philippe Bailly and sponsorship from Loïc Marty.

With four podiums at the French championships, Fino closes the 2022 season in apotheosis.
