This year, 20 percent of workers affiliated with the Revolutionary Confederation of Workers and Peasants (CROC) took up bank loans in San Juan del Río, which is 12 percent more than last year.
The general secretary of the trade union body, Dimas Peralta Alegría announced that last year 8% of the representatives asked for support from the bank to meet the expenses of the house due to the consequences of inflation, this 2022 said that c ‘There has been a marked increase in those using smaller loans to meet household spending needs.
The sums requested by the representatives are regularly three, five and 10 thousand pesos, depending on the needs, money that is granted to them in one day for the facilities to access their salary through the debit card.
“This year the number of workers asking for loans has gone away, because they are paid by card, in the bank they offer loans and even though they are three thousand pesos, the workers have accepted them to buy the most important thing, to get some of extra money for school expenses and the expenses you always have ”.
Peralta Alegría did not rule out that in the last month of the year there will be a greater debt for the expenses of the December holidays, since the increases in products and articles have occurred throughout the year, affecting the family economy.
“There are those who ask for support in the company, but even so it is not enough and they take drugs even more, in the popular coffers, in the banks, more because they have a debit card because it is an easy way to get a loan”.
