The two Syrians accused of the incident in which two policemen died in Burgas should have been detained for 24 hours. However, this was not done. An investigation into the case is underway, announced the chief secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Petar Todorov in a special interview with NOVA.

Yesterday it became clear that 16 police officers are responsible for the serious accident involving a bus with illegal migrants, in which two agents of the Ministry of the Interior were killed. For the moment, the data indicate no corruption, but poor preparation, lack of communication and poor control. During the investigation it was also established that the two traffickers, already accused of the serious accident, had been taken the day before to the Burgas border unit and should have been held in custody for 24 hours. However, this did not happen.

“There is a broken down bus, there are people with a migrant profile who should have been in a certain place. They worked with them, there was enough data to keep these people. This is not done. As a result, disciplinary control is carried out against the managers and employees who have made such a decision. There should have been a police detention for 24 hours, “Todorov explained.
