– The police set up a special commission (Soko) in connection with the shooting in southern Nuremberg on 24 October. Murder investigators have evaluated a video of the night of the murder and are now looking for important witnesses.
The video of the protected surveillance shows the course of the crime: the shots of a man who pointed the gun at two other men. As already reported several times, the two victims Orhan T. and Sahan Ö. seriously injured by bullets, the 30-year-old Ö. he died in the evening hours in a Nuremberg clinic. The alleged culprit is the fugitive Mert Fahri Akin.
According to the police, the surveillance camera footage also shows that there are other previously unknown witnesses. “As a result, two people with wheelchairs can be seen in the video who were close to the scene at the time of the crime and who can make an important contribution to the police investigation with their perceptions,” says a police report.
Meanwhile, the police station has expanded the investigation commission by inserting a special commission (Soko) called “Graben” (for Landgrabenstraße, where the crime scene is located). The “Graben” team currently includes more than 40 agents who are investigating the crime and the whereabouts of suspected fugitive Mert Fahri Akin. An arrest warrant has since been issued against Akin. Also, there is public research for him.
In this regard, the police are looking for additional witnesses. Anyone who has seen what happened on 24 October 2022 or who can provide information on the whereabouts of the fugitive Mert Fahri Akin is urged to contact the police.
