Illegal work: State and construction representatives will strengthen controls on construction sites in Reunion

How to combat undeclared work in the construction sector? This Friday morning the social partners, representatives of the state and construction discussed solutions to overcome this problem. Signed a 2022-2025 Convention to combat illegal work for greater control, coordination and awareness.

Preventing and raising awareness is the purpose of the new agreement to combat illegal work signed on Friday morning. Around the table, the state, contractors and social partners agree to strengthen their cooperation:

“The crisis favors unfair competition with loyal and virtuous companies. We have a shortage of jobs which amplifies this phenomenon at the regional level. All the players must fight together ”.

A fight that involves strengthening controls, especially in small sites.

“The state needs to give us more resources to be able to recruit staff to control more sites.”

For the moment, the modalities for strengthening controls have not been communicated. This agreement is valid until 2025.
