Vital drugs are missing from the compensated and free lists, says the Chronic Patients Alliance.
The Alliance of Chronic Patients of Romania raises the alarm. Vital medicines are missing from the compensated and free lists. More than 20 of these substances should have been approved by the authorities since last month. Alliance president Cezar Irimia said.
Cesare Irimia:We will inform patients who want to sue the state that we are available with the lawyer who represents us to bring these cases, we will inform the European institutions, the European Parliament, the European Commission about the serious situation in Romania and the embassies of the countries of the European Union in Romania and beyond. We will send this message to the UN and the World Health Organization.
Chronically ill patients also complain of excessive bureaucracy. Between 2014 and 2015, the Bucharest Court of Appeal forced the responsible authorities through 17 judicial decisions to grant free treatment with innovative medicines to patients who complained.
