The Toyota bZ4X is one step away from animating the Indonesian car market. The signal got even stronger after Toyota Indonesia’s Instagram account uploaded a photo that read “Toyota bZ4X Coming Soon”. Toyota also sent out an official invitation to launch the bZ4X on November 10th.
The presence of the bZ4X also shows that Toyota is increasingly serious about working on environmentally friendly vehicles. So far, the Japanese auto giant has only relied on hybrid cars in Indonesia. Toyota also had time to “overtake” with Hyundai, which immediately sold three pure electric cars in Indonesia.
Now, Toyota has issued an official invitation to the media crew for the launch of the Toyota bZ4X electric car. This car will slip next week, Thursday (11/10/2022).
“Dear friends of the media, we invite you to launch the All New Toyota bZ4X,” Toyota wrote in the invitation.
Previously, Toyota had exhibited the bZ4X at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2022. PT Toyota Astra Motor marketing director Anton Jimmi Suwandy at the time said that the bZ4X’s presence was an indicator that the Japanese’s first electric car was brand had entered Indonesia.
“BZ4X at this exhibition is still an exhibition, but in the future we talked to the principal. So we will continue to study it to be introduced in the Indonesian market,” Anton said last August.
The Toyota bZ4X is also known to accompany the G20 summit in Bali from 15 to 16 November 2022. This electric car is equipped with a 355 Volt lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 71.4 kWh. The battery is buried under the floor and has a temperature controller for efficiency.
This battery supports AC charging up to 6.6kW and DC charging up to 150kW. With the DC charging system, charging to 80 percent takes just 30 minutes.
Electric cars are sold in two types, namely FWD (Front Wheel Drive) and AWD (All Wheel Drive). The FWD version can cover a distance of up to 500 km, for the AWD type it can cover a distance of up to 460 km. The Toyota bZ4X type FWD is equipped with a single electric motor mounted on the front axle. The electric motor has a maximum power of 201 HP. Acceleration from 0-100 km / h can be completed in just 8.4 seconds.
While the AWD features two electric motors on the front and rear axles. Each can produce 107 hp with a combined output of 215 hp. Despite being 85 kg heavier, the Toyota bZ4X AWD can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.7 seconds.
In Indonesia, the Toyota bZ4X has been expected from Ginseng Country rival, Hyundai Ioniq 5.
