There may be 10 cm of rain

Autumn served Norway with a week of rain and mild temperatures. We will bring the rain with us over the weekend and will probably continue into the next week as well.

– November delivery as planned, on duty meteorologist Martin Granerød tells Dagbladet.

It is not completely dark yet.

– Many may be lucky to get some sunshine over the weekend, writes the Meteorological Institute on Twitter.

– But the low pressure in the western part of the country controls the weather situation and this also means rain in large areas. Most of the rain is likely to be in the west and the least precipitation in the far north, meteorologists write.

Farevarsel

On Friday morning, forecasters issue a yellow warning for parts of Rogaland.

– Up to tonight abundant rainfall is expected in the southern parts of Rogaland, especially in the outer areas. Locally, 60-100 millimeters can fall in 24 hours, forecasters write on Twitter.

It has been wet in the area for the past 24 hours. In Eik, a village in the municipality of Lund, a total of 52.7 millimeters have been measured since last night, they further write.

Dry in Troms

In Troms and Finmark, persistent weather throughout the weekend is to be expected.

It will generally be dry and cloudy, with some occasional drizzle and hints of sunshine.

– In Nordland it will rain lightly, with several hours of stay. It’s probably good to bring an umbrella anyway, says the state meteorologist.

Trønderlag is a bit more unfortunate and Friday starts the weekend with rain and clouds. With any luck, he’ll switch to a weekend stay. The sun can peek out from behind the clouds on both Saturday and Sunday.

Holes in the cloud cover also give some places exceptional Northern Lights weather.

– Small clouds await us tonight in the outer areas of Troms and Western Finnmark. It’s a great opportunity to take a trip to see the Northern Lights, writes the Meteorological Institute.

Flood alert in the East

The Norwegian Directorate of Water and Energy Resources (NVE) has issued a yellow flood warning in east-central Norway in the coming days. The typical November weather will devastate the city and it is advisable to remove the leaves covering the basins and drains to avoid flooding.

– It will be quite humid, so you just have to find both an umbrella and a rain jacket, says on-duty meteorologist Martin Granerød in Dagbladet.

In the south, persistent weather and rain are expected. It should be possible to glimpse some sunshine throughout Saturday, but the clouds will return on Sunday. As quickly as they disappeared.

– You just have to enjoy the few hours of sunshine, also advises Granerød.

Wet in the west

Western Norway appears even grayer where long periods of rain are expected. The weather will be relatively mild, but a little windy at times.

– Bergen delivery as expected. Lots of rain, says Granerød.

If you are still looking for sunshine, it can be found in southern western Norway on Sunday. On Saturday, it is the Northwest that gets the sun.

November delivers as expected and it may seem that autumn will last for a while yet. For winter lovers, snow is still found only on mountain peaks. If you are going to the mountains by car, the meteorologist advises that you are ready with winter tires already now.

– The low pressures in the sea outside of us give us high temperatures. A mild autumn weather is also expected next week.
