Harry Potter fans can no longer leave their socks in the Dobby “grave”

That writes NBC News. The beach became famous thanks to the film adaptation of the seventh book in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. In the 2010 film, the elf’s death scene is set at Freshwater West Beach in Pembrokeshire.

‘Nice place’

Harry holds Dobby in his arms as the elf dies. Dobby says the last words: “This is a wonderful place to be with friends.”

Since then, the beach has become a pilgrimage site for Harry Potter and especially Dobby fans. A special memorial site for the elf has been created on the beach.

House elves are released from their work in the book series when they receive a piece of clothing from their leader. Dobby’s evil owner, Lucius Malfoy, is tricked into giving the elf a sock. Until his death, Dobby wears this conscious sock.

The National Trust Wales asks fans to only take photos, according to NBC. “Items like socks can endanger the environment and wildlife.”
