New York will extend its “The time is now” tourism promotion campaign

New York, 31 October The “New York, the time is now!” Tourism promotion campaign, the second phase of which was launched today, will be extended to South Korea, the United Kingdom and New Zealand next November in collaboration with the main airlines and trains announced “NYC & Company,” the official destination promotion organization and the city’s convention and tourism office.

The new phase to attract both foreign and local tourism coincides with the reopening to the public of the crown of the Statue of Liberty, symbol of the campaign, after its closure in 2020.

Around 56.4 million people (47.4 million citizens and 8.9 million internationals) are expected to visit this city by the end of 2022 – about 85% of the record levels of tourism in 2019, a statement highlights of “NYC & Company”.

It also indicates that the city continues in the direction of recovering or exceeding the total number of visits in 2019 by 2024.

The first phase of the campaign, launched in June 2021, generated more than $ 5 billion in visitor spending, as well as surpassing two million hotel bookings trips from July 2021 to January 2022 (campaign duration timeframe national).

“We are delighted to announce the launch of the new phase of our award-winning travel campaign ‘New York, the time is now’. Since launching in 2021, this initiative has produced a huge return on investment, impacting billions in visitor spending and millions of travel bookings, accelerating the recovery process, “said Fred Dixon, President and CEO of” NYC & Company “.

“Our message remains the same: New York City is always evolving and ready to welcome you. The time to book a trip is now,” he said. EFE
