Al Ain, 31 October / WAM / The Emirates Heritage Club – Al Ain Youth Center today concluded the “Nakhil” program, organized by the students of the center, from 25 to 31 October at its headquarters in Al Ain, with the aim of introduce students to the palm tree as one of the most important agricultural treasures of the state, learn the skills of its cultivation and care.
Khalifa Butti Al Shamsi, Director of the Al Ain Center, said that the organization of the program took place in the context of the realization of the Emirates Heritage Club message of transferring heritage knowledge from generation to generation in order to preserve and revive it. in addition to the importance of such programs to deepen the bond of young people with their cultural heritage and to help refine their belonging to their culture.
He explained that the program consisted of several episodes presented by coach Khalfan Rashid Al Shamsi, under the supervision of Salem Ali Ghosna Al Ameri, and through which students were introduced to palm cultivation, budding, sheep, backyard and to the method of conservation, explaining that transferring knowledge of palm trees and addressing them between generations is a key objective of the program.
The palm program was part of a series of programs launched by the Emirates Heritage Club – Al Ain Youth Center in the past period to introduce elements of Emirati heritage, including programs: historical camels, baby hawks, Aleppo, Nabati poetry and other heritage programs.
