Poll: More Norwegians store drinking water

Four out of ten store drinking water in bottles / containers that can be used if tap water is closed or contaminated, shows a recent survey conducted by Ipsos on behalf of the Norwegian Directorate for Social Security and Preparation (DSB)

– We believe that the war in Ukraine and the tense political security situation in Europe have made self-preparation more relevant for even more people. In the wake of the Russian attack on Ukraine on February 24, we have seen a sharp increase in the number of visits to sikkerhverdag.no, says DSB director Elisabeth Aarsæther.

In a similar poll last year, fewer than three out of ten responded in the same way.

During the Self-Preparation Week, which lasts from 31 October to 6 November, municipalities, civil protection districts, teams and associations will inform people on what they can do to manage at home for at least three days, if important social functions are temporarily suspended.
