Palangka Raya (ANTARA) – The government of the city of Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan province, through the Department of Communication, Information, Statistics and Coding (Diskominfo) has increased socialization on the dangers and prevention of transmission of the “immunodeficiency virus human “or HIV-AIDS among the civil systems of the State (ASN).
“Currently, our focus is on Diskominfo employees. We want members at the forefront of government information to always be healthy and free from the dangers of HIV-AIDS,” said Fifi Arfina, interim head of communications and of information technologies in Palangka Raya. , Monday.
He said socialization was one of the steps taken by the Ministry of Communication and Information to break the supply chain and to learn about the dangers of HIV / AIDS in the “City of Beauty”.
“Through this socialization and education, it is hoped that each ASN has minimal knowledge to avoid the triggers that cause HIV and AIDS,” Fifi said.
The health office of the city of Palangka Raya noted that there were 119 HIV / AIDS cases in the local city in 2021, 92 men and 27 women. Then in the period January-May 2022 there were 49 people made up of men, 43 women, 6 people.
Meanwhile, program management coordinator for the Palangka Raya City AIDS Management Commission (KPA), Mursalin, said HIV / AIDS is transmitted through blood, sexual intercourse, needles and the wounds.
He added that efforts must be made to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS, including not having sex before marriage and being faithful to their partners.
So use condoms or safety devices even when having sex with at risk partners, don’t take drugs, and get education / knowledge about HIV and AIDS from the right people.
Mursalin added that the role of the community is also very important to participate in the prevention and control of HIV-AIDS.
The importance of joint efforts in HIV-AIDS prevention is none other than reducing the transmission rate of HIV-AIDS, as well as improving the quality of life of PLWHAs living with HIV-AIDS.
