Cristian Otavo, recognized leader of the municipality of Nueve de Ibagué, was the victim of a crime.
A 17-year-old boy, according to his testimony, pointed a knife to his neck and tried to take his things. Otavo, Cortolima’s contractor, subdued the minor and after a long chase he joined him.
The citizen told of the fright he experienced: “I left the Seine de Picaleña, where I was training. Between the Seine and the Casa de la Moneda, near the entrance to the Las Américas neighborhood, the young man approached me and put a butcher’s knife around my neck. He told me to give him everything, “he said.
And he added: “Thanks to what the Police taught me in a training where I was ‘Police for a day’, I checked my nerves and let him go. I crossed the street and the driver of a school transport started honking so that the thief would not reach me. I started chasing him. We went through several neighborhoods until we reached Villas de Gualará ”.
Although the child hid behind a vehicle that was in a parking lot, the community realized what was happening and helped her to grab it.
Of course, before the young man and the boss got into a fist fight.
“When I found him in the parking lot, he no longer had the knife. I guess you dumped it on the street. The community helped me get it. I must say that the subject threatened me with death. I confess that the community is tired of so many thefts. In broad daylight, the students of the Seine are victims of robberies. This cannot continue to happen ”, underlined the leader.
Mom has arrived
In a video released on social media of the event, it is observed that the young man’s mother and another relative arrived on the spot. The mother indicated that they should not joke with her son because he was a minor and was protected by the authorities, she even threatened the leader and recorded a video with her cell phone: “Let him go, it’s for the Ombudsman. Okay, he was stealing, but he’s a minor. They beat my son, if something happens to the child, this man will pay me, “the woman said. When the police arrived, the lady did not want the young man to be handcuffed. She insisted that he was a minor.
Given
Apparently, the young man had a valid sentence and had escaped from prison. He remained in the hands of the authorities. According to the community, he lives in the Villa Prado settlement.
